Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has entered into nine cooperation agreements with prominent property developers and free zone authorities to bolster the emirate’s infrastructure and improve road accessibility. The collaborations aim to establish a unified platform for approving infrastructure project requests and managing activities within public roads and rights-of-way.
The agreements were signed with the following entities:
- Emaar Properties
- DAMAC Properties
- Majid Al Futtaim Properties
- Nshama
- Al Futtaim Properties
- Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC)
- Dubai Healthcare City
- Dubai Investments Park
- Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority
These partnerships are designed to enhance road safety, elevate service levels, and ensure that development projects comply with the highest standards and regulations set by relevant authorities. The initiative aligns with RTA’s strategy to maintain Dubai’s urban landscape while ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of roads, facilities, and pedestrian pathways in accordance with global best practices.
Bader Al Siri, Executive Director of Right-of-Way at RTA’s Traffic and Roads Agency, emphasized the significance of these partnerships, stating that they are part of a comprehensive strategy to streamline the management of Dubai’s right-of-way. This unified framework is expected to enhance the development and efficiency of the road network, improve traffic flow, and ensure the safety of all road users, including motorists and pedestrians.
Al Siri also highlighted the importance of close collaboration between RTA and its strategic partners in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the emirate’s road infrastructure. He noted that these agreements reflect collective efforts in implementing Law No. (4) of 2021, which regulates roads within development areas and free zones in Dubai.
